I’m Siani Colón, a Philly-based reporter, editor, project manager, and community organizer.

From early experiences with student newspapers to navigating the dynamic landscape of local newsrooms, my journey has been shaped by a commitment to sharing stories that matter and sparked by a love for storytelling and a desire to amplify community voices.

In my previous roles, I served as the Associate Editor of Collaborations for the Philadelphia Journalism Collaborative at Resolve Philly, reporter and editor at Kensington Voice, and community organizer for Veggie Mijas. All this work required deep community engagement to build trust to serve the community well.

My work has been featured in  Germantown Info Hub, Green Philly, Grid Magazine, Kensington Voice, Motivos Magazine, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

I approach my work with authenticity and cultural competence. My diverse experiences inform my storytelling, ensuring that every voice is heard and every story is told with integrity. Beyond reporting, you can find me birdwatching and exploring herbalism.
